Sheffield’s Tom Wrigglesworth is a long time favourite with the Saddleworth crowd and has been appearing at Off The Rails since we were at The Railway, over ten years ago. To the wider world, Tom is best known for his live storytelling shows and Sony Award winning BBC Radio comedy programmes which take a comical and emotional look at family relationships. Alongside his comedy work, he’s used his engineering background to become a natural and engaging presenter for BBC Television and The Discovery Channel.
“The ultimate crowd pleaser” The Guardian
Ria Lina‘s dry wit and occasional song combine with charm and intelligence which allow her to get away with anything from the most audacious routines to subtle wordplay. Ria’s 2014 Edinburgh Fringe show “School of Riason” was nominated for the Amused Moose Laughter Awards, contained one of Dave TV’s Top 10 Jokes of the Festival, and was commissioned by Radio 4 as a half-hour special. 2016’s Dear Daughter won Best Comedy Show at the Greater Manchester Fringe..
TV includes Sweet n’ Sour Comedy and Malai Monologues, for BBC3; The World Stands Up, for Comedy Central (USA), the Paramount Comedy Channel (UK), and the Comedy Network Channel (AUS).
“A brilliant line in bawdy songs… storming set!” Evening Standard
MC Dan Nightingale worked his way through university as the sound man at a comedy club but being actually on the stage looked like so much more fun.. Fortunately, Dan turned out to be a natural performer and a brilliant compere. Dan mixes cutting observation and raucous gags with high energy audience work and a natural playfulness that engages any crowd. Original, creative and totally unpredictable.
Dan was voted ‘Best MC’ in the 2015 UK Comedy Awards by fellow comedians, bookers and promoters
“Fantastic… …another Kitson or Noble.” Metro
